I have given many options and it is not hard to do it as well, so move, think and decide. Are you going to use up your time and make it into quality time spending, or are you going to ignore, blind yourself and waste it again because you did it many times, I am sure you are going to do it again.
9 Facts About The Titanic
No, I am not talking about the movie, but I’m talking about the actual ship that sank years ago on the 14th of April in 1912, the largest passenger ship at the time. It took 2 years to build this baby but only got to sail the seas for 4 days. With over 2,200 passengers, the Titanic was a big hit and anyone would’ve killed to be on that ship, maybe people have but no one knows. This happened over a century ago so it’s most likely that unanswered questions will remain unanswered. If you’re in Newfoundland, Canada and planning to get an open water course, maybe you could even explore the shipwreck. However, if you want to know a bit more about it, here are some interesting facts about the Titanic:
The Iceberg Was Huge
Maybe some people may have seen it as not that big as portrayed in the movie. But the thing about icebergs is that they only poke out a little bit above the water, but underneath the water hides the rest of it. The iceberg that hit the Titanic was only jutting out around 50 – 100 feet above water but the actual size was between 200 – 400 feet long.
It’s 12,600 Feet Underwater
Yes, that humongous ship sank around 2.5 miles below the surface of the ocean, about 370 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. The ship evidently broke in two as it sank. And it sank pretty fast too, estimated between 35 – 50 mph.
They Could Have Saved More People
You see, the Titanic was huge. So, by right, they could have fit 64 lifeboats aboard. But it’s a mystery as to why they only put 20 lifeboats aboard. Alongside that, the lifeboats were dispatched only after 1 hour passed from the iceberg hitting the ship. Plus, instead of utilizing the lifeboats to their fullest, which is to carry 65 people, only 28 people boarded the first boat dispatched. Thus, only 705 of 2,223 passengers survived this tragedy.
2 Workers Died In The Making
You read that right, as far as we know, of course. diving license malaysia of them, a 15-year-old lad, fell off a ladder and cracked his skull. The other, a young lad as well, was squashed by timber that fell while transporting the ship.
The Shipwreck Is Being Eaten
I’m not kidding. There was a certain type of bacteria found on the shipwreck that is very slowly eating the ship.
The Iceberg Said: “Bleep” You
This is because it was found that the iceberg made a 300-foot gash alongside the ship. That’s pretty bad, considering the ship literally broke in half.
Maybe The Titanic Was A Bad Honeymoon Idea
Yes, a honeymoon on the Titanic was a bad idea. But who could’ve guessed anyway. It was found that 13 couples on the ship were actually on their honeymoon.
Not Everyone Was Found
Out of the remaining passengers who did not make it, only 306 bodies were found from the icy waters.
The Ship Wasn’t Perfectly Functioning From The Start
Now, this is the most shocking of all. Before the Titanic set sail, the whole ship wasn’t even functioning fully yet. Only 3 out of the 4 funnels worked and yet they set sail. This would most probably because everyone was already there and they didn’t want to postpone.
